This weekend has proven out to be very effective songwriting wise. I’ve had some own time to go into my shell and think about my existence in life itself and it has helped me to write out my feelings in form of this music.
The latest addition to this blog is a groovy house track with latin influences. I haven’t written this kind of music for ages, in fact, some of the older tracks in this genre can now only be heard at my MySpace, the link is in the about section.
Anyway, here it is and I hope you can dance to that 😉
Samuel – Inspira Musica

Here’s another new track from me. It’s calm and soothing electronica slowly building up before letting go. Influences of house and latin can be heard but mainly it is sourcing from downtempo and oldschool drum machines. Vocal samples are from Outer Limits.

I got selected into the three winners in this remix competition hosted by Dancefloor Mayhem. You can listen or download my remix at their website or here.
Logan Lynn feat. Samuel – Burning Your Glory With Acid
August 19, 2009
I was watching a live gig of Jori Hulkkonen’s and once again I got completely carried away with the sound of Roland TB-303. Motivated from that, I instantly started working on this new acidhouse track.
It’s a pretty short track for an acid track but I don’t think it matters really and you never know, perhaps I’ll write an extended version of it some day. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did making it 🙂

I’m sure you remember that I was writing two remixes for the british indie band Kill The Young last March. It now appears that there is no room for them on their records but with their kind permission I can put them available for download here for you to enjoy at least.
Also the Monotonik release of my ‘Pixels ep’ has been postponed to a further date but as far as I know it should come out in the late 2009 or early 2010.
Anyway, here are the Kill The Young remixes.
Kill The Young – Vultures (Samuel’s Uptempo Edit)
Kill The Young – Broken Hearted (Samuel’s Downtempo Edit)
March 20, 2009
Today has been a good day, first of all it’s vernal equinox and summer is coming closer and closer every day. Main reason for being happy however is that I’ve got green light from both, Monotonik and Kill The Young because of my work for them.
My ep or mini-lp for the free netlabel Monotonik ended up including total of five new tracks instead of the three that I wrote about in my previous post. This ep will come out later in the spring, stay tuned to this blog and you’ll hear them when it’s due. In the words of Simon Carless, the head of Monotonik:
OK, so I love it, def. want to release it. It might be a month or two… OK? 🙂 It’s really strong work!
I also got first opinions from Kill The Young. For them I have done two remixes, one uptempo dancefloor filler and one easy downtempo pop tune. This is what their manager told me:
The band are REALLY loving your remixes 🙂
Oh happy days!

It is always fun to make acid. With that I of course mean music mainly made using the Roland TB-303 bassline synth that has been one of the biggest things in the world of electronic music and also seriously inspired me in whatever I have done.
This particular track is about experimenting with multiple different basslines, most of them running on top of each other, maximum of three at a time.
