Believe or not! My first own track in over 5 years. It took me this long (well not quite) to actually get my ass back on the production line.
It all started already earlier, when we relaunched our Nervous+Anxious project last December, before that I didn’t even have any tools installed. Now we have already written two tracks for that project, but personally I haven’t touched FL Studio outside of that project and this pounding acid techno track is my first.
I’m not promising whole a lot of new updates, but if anything happens besides our N+A project, I’ll be posting it here. In the meantime, I hope you enjoy…

If you have been wondering why my blog has gone totally to halt, this might be a good point to give some reasons for it.
First of all, since last year my personal life has turned completely upside down, I’m not gonna go into details but basicly a lot has happened. It’s not necessarily all negative, in fact many things are now better than in my previous life but it seems that bad things still hold me with their dirty long treefingers.
However, the biggest problem currently is that my secondary harddisk including all my production tools and music broke down, I know it’s my fault for not having backups of everything. In fact, I still do have the program files for the tracks so nothing is lost permanently but all my wav’s, mp3’s and stuff are now down. Currently I’m not able to fix it on my own and haven’t got anyone whose skilled enough to come over and try checking it out with Linux. I’m hoping to get the data out of there but installing everything again seems like a big job at the moment, especially as my personal life is in turmoil.
I hope to get back to writing at some point but at the moment I am keeping distance to this whole thing.

It now appears that this was released on Monotonik after all. The label has gone to halt now but rest of the upcoming releases were put out after all. More information about the situation can be found here and here.
Because of these late changes I’m giving out the proper download link here including the review, even though you can download it from this site as well.

I was listening to some of my old and unfinished tracks and decided to pull this project up and finish it. The basic sketch including melodies are already about five years old but I never managed to write it ready. Today it was possible! Once again it’s more in the IDM side than any other and I hope you catch the mood. Have a listen!

Here are the tracks that I wrote for Monotonik last winter. After waiting for months and getting various promises from Simon it now appears that these tracks are never gonna come out on the label. Therefor I decided to make them available here, for free and for your pleasure. I hope you enjoy.
As you have probably noticed, I’ve not been uploading much new material lately. It is simply due to the fact that I’ve got a job again and being made redundant was the idea of this blog in the first place. I don’t have as much time for writing music now as I am working during the week. Nothing abnormal there 🙂 But I’m not gonna stop writing music that I’ve written for over 20 years nor will I be burying this blog. I hope patience from you.

The autumn has finally landed. I’ve been on a bit sensitive mood because the weather has mostly been really beautiful and the latest track I’ve been working with is this one. It’s some sort of combination of downtempo and instrumental rock mostly because of the real live drum sounds, yet my attempt has been to create the feeling of the beauty of the nature with this track.
The title is in finnish and means deserted. It comes from the idea how most of the birds fly to south and some animals fall into hibernation and the nature sort of becomes more deserted during the winter.

I’ve been a bit busy thus not being able to update this blog much in the last week or so. The remix competition I wrote about in here has now closed officially and the votes have been cast.
My remix came 2nd in the competition and it is available for downloads here. Here’s the original track as a reminder.

After been listening to some dub techno made by Teemu T, I had an attempt to create some moody techno myself. It’s also been really chilly weather lately, absolute autumn weather with clear skies and it motivated me to go for a bit colder theme as well.
What can I say? It’s completely different style of music that I’ve ever composed before but maybe because of that it was such a fresh experience for me. It was also completely recorded live without any previously written pattern programming and that also was a new approach in making music. Like it or hate it.

I’ve got these patterns done and ready but sometimes I just can’t finish a track. Now I’ve collected some of those unfinished ideas together and was able to push out another track for the week.
This time it’s pure Roland TR-909 and TB-303 joy. All the sounds come from these two infamous classic elements of techno. The track is pretty cold, minimal and harsh, so if you’re not a hardcore techno lover it’s not probably for you. And then again, if you like this kind of music it’s nothing special either 😉

More electro for you. This time it’s a bit more melodic and smoother than you’ve used to with Kocmohabt, I still hope you enjoy my sounds.
